Jocelin Ta Bi deal looks off

Jocelin Ta Bi seemed excited about the prospect of joining Celtic after reports claimed that a £2m deal had been agreed to bring the 20-year-old to Glasgow.

However, a new development has revealed that Celtic are stalling due to an injury suffered by Ta Bi, which may result in him needing surgery.

He is already on the sidelines receiving treatment, but could be out for longer depending on the severity of the scan results.

It doesn’t seem like the only thing holding up the deal, though, with Foot Mercato journalist Sebastien Denis claiming that he is off to Sunderland instead.

Celtic eye Mohamed Bamba as answer to striker headache

In a bid to provide Martin O’Neill with more strikers to select from, Celtic are apparently looking in France for options.

24-year-old Mohamed Bamba is the man the Hoops allegedly want, with talks over a loan to buy deal seemingly in the works.

Bamba’s off-pitch antics may be a cause for concern after he was dropped from Lorient’s squad last weekend due to disciplinary issues, but it seems as if there is a fair bit of work to do on that deal.

Stephen Welsh returns to Celtic

Central defenders have been on the Celtic shopping list, but it seems that they want to spend their money elsewhere.

Following Jahmai Simpson-Pusey’s move to Koln, Dane Murray was the only first-team option aside from Auston Trusty and Liam Scales.

That has now changed as Welsh has returned to Celtic, and it will be interesting to see what sort of role he will play.
