Celtic’s new signing under Brendan Rodgers has been backed to turn into a ‘machine’

Celtic fans are hoping the late win over Motherwell kick-starts what has been a mood-sapping season so far.

There have been many reasons behind the mood at Celtic being down, including getting knocked out of the Champions League and the highly criticised 2025 summer transfer window.

But you sense, slowly but surely, there is light at the end of the tunnel for Brendan Rodgers, and some of the new signings are providing that.

One of them is Kelechi Iheanacho, who, at this moment in time, is proving to be such a wonderful free transfer for Celtic.

Kelechi Iheanacho backed to turn into a ‘machine’ at Celtic

Last season, Iheanacho had a bit-part campaign because he hardly played for Sevilla, and was then loaned out to Middlesbrough in January.

Speaking on Go Radio, Craig Moore has backed the 29-year-old to turn into a ‘machine’ at Celtic this season.

Moore even went one better and feels that, once Iheanacho hits full speed, he will score ’25-30+’ goals for the champions of Scotland.

Moore: “Iheanacho isn’t up to full speed. When he is, I think he will score 25-30+. I think he is that type of striker.”

Andy Walker: “The big one. Celtic should have been, and probably were, targeting someone to take the place of Adam Idah. They didn’t get a striker in to cost any money. They were left scrambling for the free transfer market. He might be a brilliant player. He might score 25 goals.”

Moore: ‘Once he is fit, by the way, he is going to be a machine.”

Iheanacho’s highest-scoring season of his career

Iheanacho has been playing at the highest level for a decade after coming through at Manchester City, and he has hit double figures in goals on three occasions.

What’s even better is the fact that his best-scoring season of his career came under Rodgers, and that’s when they were working together at Leicester City.

So, there is hope that he can, at least, hit the 20-goal mark this term.
