There isn’t long left until the January transfer window slams shut on Celtic.
The deadline for Celtic to conclude their business is 11 pm on Monday, and so far, no new faces have arrived on deadline day.
It is expected that Celtic will sign striker Junior Adamu and winger Joel Mvuka before the cut-off point – announcements coming soon.
But, as Charlie Mulgrew sat down in the Go Radio studios as the hours ticked down, he was excited to hear that more faces could yet arrive.

Celtic backed to sign four players on transfer deadline day
Mark Guidi has stated that Celtic could make a total of ‘four signings’ before the deadline, including Adamu and Mvuka.
Speaking on Go Radio, Mulgrew was pleasantly surprised to hear that and admitted that he is hoping it will be a ‘midfielder’ and a ‘centre-half.’
Celtic recalled Stephen Welsh from his Motherwell loan spell at the start of January, but he is the fourth choice under Martin O’Neill, behind Auston Trusty, Liam Scales, and Dane Murray.
You suspect that if another defender signs, then Welsh will be allowed to re-join Motherwell, which would be the sensible call, because his progression is being halted sitting on Celtic’s bench.
Nonetheless, this is how Mulgrew reacted to being told about the late, late business Celtic could yet conclude in the final hours of the winter transfer window.
Mark Guidi: “The deals are very, very close. I am expecting both of those deals (Adamu and Mvaku) will still go through. I still have a couple to leave Celtic Park.
“I think Celtic might sign two more. They end up with four signings at Celtic Park tonight.”
Paul Cooney: “One of them a defender?”
Guidi: “We will see how it goes over the next hour or two. But I think there will be four today. The two that are already mentioned, and another two.”
Cooney: “Charlie, four coming into your old club.”
Charlie Mulgrew: “I would like to see a midfielder and a centre-half in that four, if possible. I didn’t think it would have been four. It’s good to hear that. It’s encouraging to hear that.
“I thought it would have been two, at the most three. Four, depending on the level of player, which we all know would be a successful window. That would be six all in.”
