Fares Ghedjemis rejected Celtic despite an offer being sent, it is being reported.
Frosinone stood firm over their valuation for Ghedjemis, who was one of Martin O’Neill’s top targets for the January transfer window.
When the move didn’t happen, Celtic turned their attentions to Joel Mvuka, whose £3m move from Lorient is expected to be confirmed imminently.
It was widely reported to have been a gap in valuations that led to the deal falling through, but there are now reports to the contrary.
The clubs seemingly had, in fact, reached an agreement over a transfer fee.

Fares Ghedemis’ Celtic rejection revealed
According to the Daily Record, Celtic had an offer of £6 million for Ghedjemis accepted by the Serie B side.
However, despite initially indicating that he was keen to move to Glasgow, the player had a ‘change of heart’ and opted to stay for the club’s promotion push.

A left-footed right-winger, Ghedjemis would have offered Celtic a profile that they haven’t had since the sale of Nicolas Kuhn.
He is aged 23, and joined the Italian side for just £250,000 a year ago. He has scored eight league goals for the club this season.
The report also mentions Damir Redzic, who was being pursued by Celtic simultaneously with the Frenchman.
Redzic’s heart was reportedly set on a move to Red Bull Salzburg, where he has now had a medical ahead of a £4.75 million move from Dunajska Streda.
Both players have had exceptional seasons so far, so the signing of Mvuka, a player who has been in mediocre form in France, is more of a risk comparatively.
But one difference between Mvuka and the aforementioned pair is crucial: he actually wants to come to Celtic.

Frosinone manager on Celtic target Fares Ghedjemis
With the rumours at their peak, Frosinone boss Massimiliano Alvini commented on Celtic’s interest in the winger after their 1-1 draw with Virtus Entella.
He said: “Will I find Ghedjemis in training on Tuesday? I think so.
“But if the player leaves for a fee, I don’t know. I’m still happy for him, for the club, and for the work done.”
Frosinone currently sit second in the Italian second tier, in the automatic promotion spots alongside Venezia.
