It’s official now. Former Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain has now joined Falkirk.
Celtic released Bain last week after deciding to allow the former Dundee man to go and continue his career elsewhere.
After just 78 appearances in seven years, Bain’s time at Celtic was mostly spent on the training ground and not on the pitch.
After the former Celtic man was linked to Falkirk this morning, Bain has now made his move official after signing a one-year deal at the Scottish Premiership new boys.
And here, the former Scotland international shares why he swapped the disco lights of Celtic Park for the north-east club.

Scott Bain’s Celtic exit to Falkirk explained
Tying up the deal, Bain is clearly delighted to start the new chapter of his career as he explains why he chose to continue his playing days at The Falkirk Stadium.
Bain told Falkirk FC, “It’s great to be here. The club is very well run and it’s a really great set-up. It’s full of good people, and that’s a part of the reason I wanted to come here.
“I think I can come in and help a bit in terms of experience with the league and with the team’s style of play. I’m really looking forward to working with the squad and the management team.
“The boys have done an incredible job over the last two years and hopefully I can help this season to be another successful one for the club and the fans.”
Why Falkirk are ‘delighted’ to sign former Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain
For Falkirk, why would John McGlynn choose to sign a player who has spent much of the last seven years sitting on the Celtic bench?
In fact, Bain has had no time on the pitch at all over the last 12 months but that doesn’t concern Falkirk as assistant boss Paul Smith explains why he’s ‘delighted’ to sign the former Celtic man.
Smith said, “We’re delighted Scott has joined us here at Falkirk after he chose to come to the club over various other offers both north and south of the border.
“He is a goalkeeper who comes to us after seven years at Celtic, and in that time he has played in massive European games, Scottish international matches, and at the highest level in Scotland, so he comes to the club with a wealth of experience.
“He is really good with the ball at his feet, and his style of play perfectly suits the play-style and ethos that we have at Falkirk. He’ll fit in really well with Nicky, Jamie, and Owen, and I’m sure all three will learn from the vast experience that Scott has. We look forward to working with him in the coming season.”
Bain will certainly be looking to become Falkirk’s number one as he looks to kickstart his career away from Celtic.
Everyone at 67 Hail Hail wishes him all the very best for next season except, of course, when Bain faces Celtic.
