Gustaf Lagerbielke has spoken very openly about a potential move to Celtic this summer.
The Sweden international has been linked with a £3m transfer from Elfsborg to replace compatriot Carl Starfelt.
On Tuesday we heard that Celtic have been interested in the defender for a couple of weeks but that we still had work to do to complete the signing.
However, Lagerbielke certainly seems to think the signing has a good chance as he spoke to the media in his homeland on Wednesday.
Speaking to Swedish daily newspaper Göteborgs-Posten, he said: “It’s great fun when such a big club is interested. It’s pretty close.
“All players in the Allsvenskan dream of going to better leagues and playing in the Champions League and big clubs. They play in both the Champions League and are a very big club. It is clear that it would be very interesting if it became relevant.

“It is a big club with a lot of supporters and titles. It’s not often they buy from the Allsvenskan and you don’t know how many such chances you get.”
Lagerbielke seems genuinely buzzing at the prospect of playing at Celtic Park on a Champions League night.
He is clearly aware of the club’s interest and certainly wants a deal to be done. His comments make it sound like the transfer is very likely, with the “it’s pretty close” admission most revealing.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers was asked about him at his Wednesday press-conference but chose not to give much away. “I’ve got nothing to add,” was his contribution.
Regardless of Rodgers playing this one down, it does seem increasingly likely from the noises in Sweden that Lagerbielke will be our next summer signing.
It would be nice to get it sealed as soon as possible.
