Celtic love a comeback story, don’t they?!
Perhaps, if Brendan Rodgers doesn’t sign a new deal, then Ange Postecoglou will be the next Celtic manager because it’s a common theme of late.
Ever since Rodgers returned to Celtic during the summer of 2023, several former players have donned the green and white colours again.
It started with Jota returning in January, and then the most popular arrival of Kieran Tierney this summer, as well as goalkeeper Ross Doohan, and then Shaun Maloney in a coaching capacity.
But could Celtic be about to add another former player to their ranks this summer?

Celtic fans react to Odsonne Edouard transfer rumour
It is obvious to all that Rodgers needs another striker because he hasn’t replaced Kyogo Furuhashi yet following his exit in the winter.
A lot of names have popped up, and it has now been suggested that Celtic are looking at Odsonne Edouard ahead of the new season.
It’s fair to say that the Celtic Park faithful are very mixed on the whole thing, with some welcoming the Frenchman back with open arms because he will be ‘the best in the league’, but others simply not having it.
@albert84_mama had a three-word response to the Edouard rumours: ‘Bring him home.’
@olegtoshev1 compared Edouard to Adam Idah: ‘I would prefer Edward over Idah, he’s better in every way, even though he didn’t play much last season. But I wish they would excite us with something new instead of always looking back with nostalgia, will he be the same as before, or will we have another Idah?’
Meanwhile, @SanfranCeltic had a one-word response: ‘NO!’
Another Celtic fan who thinks Edouard is currently better than Idah, as @MartyRossi77 added: ‘Better than Idah and we need a striker so sign him up.’
@Desy__18 is all for it: ‘What a signing that would be.’
@k9cryptoo prefers Miovski: ‘Miovski yes Eddy NO.’
@4c179694d25a424 isn’t too pleased with so many Celtic heroes coming back: ‘Scott Sinclair and Dembele too. Auld Brendan has been watching too much Back to the Future.’
Another Celtic fan who wants Edouard to return, as @Herson_7 added: ‘Bring him home @CelticFC.’
But then there is the other side, as @hotbaws1 added: ‘No, thanks.’
@brianflynn2 can see Edouard signing on one condition: ‘If it’s free, then I’m sure Lawell and co will give it some thought.’
@oneupu2 noted how Edouard left Celtic: ‘It’s a no from me, he is lazy and not interested, and when he left Celtic, no one was bothered. Short memories.’
@Celtic67777 thinks Edouard would be the ‘best in the league’ if he came back: ‘No chance of this happening but if he came back up here I’m confident he’d be one of the best, if not the best, in the league.’
Edouard’s record under Brendan Rodgers
Edouard played under Rodgers for a brief period before he made the infamous call to leave and join Leicester City in 2019.
At the time, the 27-year-old was still trying to make a name for himself before exploding under the likes of Neil Lennon and Ange Postecoglou.
But this was Edouard’s record under Rodgers:
- Games: 68
- Goals: 27
- Assists: 10
