Celtic’s work in the summer transfer window seems to be ramping up this month.
Celtic have already added Kieran Tierney to the ranks and it seems like Brendan Rodgers is also zeroing in on young Callum Osmand.
With Michel-Ange Balikwisha also on Celtic’s radar it seems this summer is going to be a busy one for the Parkhead support.
However, it’s another striker Celtic are closing in on that has Danish football expert Thoke Theilade absolutely buzzing.
And as a friend of 67 Hail Hail, we decided to ask him his thoughts on how highly-rated Celtic target Benjamin Nygren is and how he would fit in at Parkhead.

Celtic told they are ‘getting a steal’ in Benjamin Nygren
Nygren is said to be closing in on a move to Celtic and as the Parkhead club work away in the background, Theilade gave us a rundown on the qualities he has that make a move to Paradise perfect for the player and Brendan Rodgers.
Theilade who is the editor-in-chief of Vilfort Park, told 67 Hail Hail, “He was a big talent when he was young. Broke through at Göteborg as a teenager, and then earned a big move to Belgium, where he failed.
“He’s been fine for Nordsjælland up until this season, where he really broke through and became a big profile for them. This season he’s been incredible and really showed himself as a high-class striker.
“With his contract running out at the end of the year, you are getting a steal here.”
The Benjamin Nygren stat that makes him a better signing for Celtic than Mathias Kvistgaarden
With Celtic’s interest in Mathias Kvistgaarden all but over, it appears that Rodgers could be getting a better overall striker in Nygren.
“He’s a great finisher,” continued Theilade, “Especially with his left foot but also with the head. This season, he scored 15 goals on an xG of 10.9, which was by far the highest goal to xG difference of all the top strikers in Denmark (4.1). In comparison, Kvistgaarden was 3.4.
“As a striker, I would say he is more or less complete. He gets into good positions around the penalty area and is a great finisher. He is a strong dribbler and great in tight spaces, and his positional awareness is strong. He is technically very good and works well on a possession based team.
“He is not the fastest guy, but also not slow, and he is relatively big too. Also not a guy that is easy to push away. Celtic are getting a bargain at the price due to his contract expiring soon.
“With him having already played in Belgium, plus his years in Denmark, you are also getting a guy that has already tried living abroad for a long time and won’t need the same amount of adjustment.
“He speaks perfect English as well, so integration into the squad and Glasgow should be seamless.”
Nygren appears to be on the verge of a move to Celtic and from Theilade’s verdict on the striker, fans should be excited about this guy.
With four caps to his name and at just 23, Nygren’s best years are ahead of him and under Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic manager could develop him into a top-class player as he has done with the likes of Matt O’Riley previously.
