Marco Tilio is back at Celtic and training with the first-team squad in Lisbon.
The Australian winger returned from a loan spell with Melbourne City, who went on to win the A-League Grand Finals in May.
It was a successful stint for Tilio, who played the first-half of Celtic’s 3-2 loss to Estrela da Amadora on Saturday afternoon.
But he has no future at Celtic, and it is expected he will be offloaded by the club at some point this summer.

Aurelio Vidmar on Tilio return chances
Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph claims Melbourne City want to bring him back to the club, either on a permanent deal or another loan.
However, City boss Aurelio Vidmar has poured cold water over a potential return as he stated it’s very unlikely Tilio will re-sign for the Aussie champions.
As quoted via Yahoo News, Vidmar said: “It’s clear with Marco that he’s been pretty keen to go back to Europe.
“He was involved in a friendly game last weekend, so it’s highly likely we won’t have the return of Marco, but we just don’t know where that’s going to end.
“He’s part of Celtic’s property. We don’t own the player, so we’ll see where that goes. There’ll be ongoing discussions until we actually know what’s happening before we make the next move.”
Celtic need to sell Tilio
It’s clear Tilio is not up to the standard of playing for Celtic. That was shown on Saturday when he played against Estrela da Amadora.
The 23-year-old has played just two competitive games for the Hoops since signing in the summer of 2023, just as Rodgers returned to the Hoops.
He doesn’t have what it takes to play for a big club, so Celtic should hope that Melbourne are able to strike some sort of deal.
It sounds like Tilio wants to continue playing in Europe, but he’ll have to find some potential suitors first.
