With just under four days left of the transfer window to go, Brendan Rodgers has a bit of work ahead of him to strengthen Celtic for the season ahead.
The Parkhead boss has been busy moving on players Rodgers doesn’t see as playing a part in Celtic’s future and has also added four new faces to his squad this summer.
The captures of Viljami Sinisalo and Kasper Schmeichel solved the Joe Hart replacement problem and adding Paulo Bernardo and Adam Idah helped to strengthen and keep continuity in the double-winning Celtic team.
And now that Rodgers has bagged the best part of £30m from the sale of Matt O’Riley to Brighton, the Celtic gaffer is looking to invest a huge chunk of that as he looks to make his next big summer transfer bid.
Celtic bid £5m for Auston Trusty
67 Hail Hail discussed last week how Celtic held an interest in US international defender, Auston Trusty and it seems that the club are now testing Sheffield United’s resolve after tabling a £5m bid for the 26-year-old.
The Daily Record reports that Sheffield United are ‘reluctant’ to sell the defender who made 32 appearances for them in the Premier League last season.
But now plying his trade in the English Championship, the report says Celtic are ‘pushing hard’ to make a move happen before transfer deadline day.

Trusty has two caps for the USA and played in the CONCACAF Nations League final back in June of last year beating Alistair Johnston’s Canada 2-0.
The US defender has made two appearances for The Blades this season in a 1-1 draw with Norwich City and beating Wrexham 4-2 in the League Cup.
With Champions League football and the chance to partner up with Celtic hero, Cameron Carter-Vickers, there is a lot to tempt Trusty to the Scottish champions and make the move to Glasgow before the window closes on Friday.
