‘Important contact’ made between Lennon Miller and Serie A side as Celtic look set to miss out on boyhood fan

Celtic are an attractive prospect for any player and to represent your boyhood club must be the ultimate honour.

Luke McCowan is doing that right now, as are Kieran Tierney and Callum McGregor but one signing fans were hoping to see added to the collection is Lennon Miller.

James McFadden is convinced he knows where Miller is going and the 18-year-old is almost certain to leave Fir Park.

Miller’s dad knows he’s leaving Motherwell too and the midfielder hasn’t been included in any of the match day squads so far this season.

Now, it seems like his destination has finally been found.

Lennon Miller in talks over Serie A switch

Several European clubs are rivalling Celtic for Miller and it seems like one of them is going to win the race.

According to Orazio Accomando, there was “important contact” between Miller and Bologna and that discussions are underway to complete a deal.

The Italian top flight is home to plenty of bright Scottish talents, including Lewis Ferguson at Bologna, Josh Doig at Sassuolo and the duo of Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour are at Napoli.

Celtic’s transfer frustrations continue

Although the Hoops’ links to Miller have died down in recent weeks, the latest saga is another sign of how this window has gone for Celtic.

Eight signings have come through the Celtic Park doors but more are needed and Brendan Rodgers is keen to make more additions.

With less than a month to go until the window closes, at least three players are needed and the news of missing out on another target is only going to dampen spirits even more.
