The Lennon Miller to Celtic chat is, thankfully, set to end as the Motherwell midfielder is poised to join Udinese.
Miller has been linked to Celtic on numerous occasions and has been spoken about to the nth degree by pundits and ex-players.
And whilst it looks like Celtic will miss out, at least this particular ongoing rumour can now be put to bed.
However, why did Lennon Miller choose to pick Udinese amid the chat linking him to various other clubs in the Serie A, Europe and Celtic?
Italian football expert, James Richardson explains why.

Lennon Miller joins ambitious Udinese project as Celtic miss out
Brendan Rodgers wanted Lennon Miller. There’s no secret that the Celtic boss was keen to take him to Parkhead.
So given the choice, apart from the fact he is moving to the Mediterranean, why has Miller chosen Udinese?
Richardson told The Herald, “They are owned by Giampaolo Pozzo, the former Watford owner whose son Gino is now in charge at Vicarage Road, which has some good points and some bad points.
“But they have certainly been quite forward thinking about how they scout and develop players for some time. They bring in players with potential, improve them and sell them for more money than they paid.
“It’s been a while since they’ve been particularly successful. Just hanging in Serie A has been what they’ve been up to for the last decade or so.
“They have flirted with relegation on occasion. But they’ve kind of always finished bottom half of the table, have always just survived.
“That said, there’s a pretty positive vibe about them under their German manager, Kosta Runjic. Their pre-season results have certainly been really good (they have beaten Dutch team Twente and German side Werder Bremen) for what that’s worth. They’ve been looking pretty decent.”
Celtic fans can now move on from Lennon Miller
Like Mathias Kvistgaarden, Celtic fans can move on from the long-running Lennon Miller soap opera.
This particular transfer saga ending will now polarise the Celtic support’s focus on what business the club are actually going to do from now until the end of the month.
With no real transfer rumours emerging over the last few days, Celtic fans may well be worried as the transfer deadline creeps up on Rodgers and the Hoops boss still doesn’t have what he wants inside the Parkhead walls.
