Things are starting to heat up for Celtic in the summer transfer market.

The 2025 summer transfer window officially opened on June 16, and Celtic are wasting no time in boosting their squad for next season.

Kieran Tierney’s return has been confirmed, and it’s something the supporters were expecting because there was noise around his comeback for months and months.

But now there are suggestions that a fee has been agreed for Benjamin Nygren, as the Swedish star is expected to add firepower to the forward line.

Whilst all of that noise is hovering above Celtic Park, there is another name seemingly in the door and ready to add to the talent pool available to Brendan Rodgers.

Isaac English at Celtic Park ahead of summer transfer

Celtic love bringing in young gems and those unknown figures, before transforming them into superstars and trophy-winning players.

There might be another name to watch out for in the years to come, because Pete O’Rourke has claimed on social media that Celtic are ‘poised to sign’ Isaac English from Greenock Morton.

The transfer expert has claimed that English was at Parkhead on Wednesday, June 18, to ‘finalise’ a move to the champions of Scotland.

‘Celtic are poised to sign highly-rated Morton youngster Isaac English,’ wrote O’Rourke. ‘The 17-year-old was at Celtic Park today finalising his move to the Scottish champions.’

How much are Celtic paying Greenock Morton for English?

English is a young defender, who is yet to taste senior football, just like Celtic-linked Callum Osmand from Fulham.

Whilst Osmand, if he signs, is expected to compete with the senior side, you question if that will happen with English, especially given the level the 17-year-old has been playing at.

According to the Greenock Telegraph, Celtic are playing Morton ‘£50,000’ for English’s talents, after he impressed for the Ton’s under-18s, as they won the Club Academy Scotland Performance League title.
