The previously unknown name of Callum Osmand has been talked about a lot in Celtic circles.

After Kyogo Furuhashi’s exit during the January transfer window, the first proper steps Celtic are making to replace the Japan star is by looking to bring in a youngster for that position.

Osmand has done wonders for Fulham’s younger age groups, but he is yet to taste senior football with the London club.

This is no bother for the champions of Scotland because they have gone down this road before of bringing in a young and emerging talent, before transforming him into a top star.

You would back Brendan Rodgers and co, as well as the player himself, to progress like your Moussa Dembeles and Matt O’Rileys of the past, if he secures that move to Glasgow.

As the transfer rumours swirl around Osmand, the player himself is enjoying his break in Greece, and it seems as though he is already ready to go.

The 19-year-old posted a one-word message on Instagram, ‘recharged’, and as you can understand, a host of Celtic supporters raided the comments section.

The Celtic Park faithful are already welcoming Osmand to Scotland’s most successful club, as an agreement has been reached over his transfer.

Osmand also posted on Twitter, ‘Rest and ready for the new season.’

Osmand would be perfect for the Celtic platform

Fans shouldn’t be too bothered about the fact that Osmand hasn’t tasted senior football because this is where the club excels.

Perhaps another attacking option is needed on top of Osmand, but this is one for the long-term and fans should be excited.

The one thing that will further aid Osmand’s development is if Rodgers extends his contract and stays beyond next summer.

That would be perfect for all parties, and almost certainly continue the trophies flowing in at a serious pace.
