Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is casting the net as he bids for some late additions at Parkhead to strengthen his push for the title.
Nicolas Kuhn came through the Parkhead doors earlier this month for a fee in the region of £3 million; however, there is likely to be further movement between now and the transfer deadline.
Despite the hunt for fresh recruits lasting the duration of the window, it appears that late loan deal arrivals will be the order of the day as opposed to long-term targets.
Bringing in a striker and a left-back looks to be the priority for Rodgers in the dying stages of the mid-season market.
Seemingly, the Irishman is nearing a conclusion regarding his first port of call, with reports suggesting that Norwich City forward Adam Idah is nearing a loan move to the Scottish Premiership holders.
In a relatively quick turnaround, the Republic of Ireland international seems to be coming to Glasgow after turning down interest from England and abroad to secure a move to the Bhoys.
Sydney van Hooijdonk, who has also been mentioned in connection with Celtic over the last few weeks, is headed to replace Idah at Carrow Road, paving the way for the latter to travel north of the border to sign on the dotted line.
More details emerge on Adam Idah’s move to Celtic
Initially, it was reported that Idah would arrive at Celtic on a loan deal with an option to buy the 22-year-old at the end of the season.
Scoring 17 times in 115 appearances for Norwich City, the Cork-born forward will offer Rodgers some variety in the centre-forward position over the coming months.

Despite this, Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph has now indicated that no purchase clause will be inserted into any agreement after Celtic agreed on a loan deal with his parent club.
Joseph has also confirmed that Idah is in London for a medical today; meanwhile, his replacement, Van Hooijdonk, is due to travel to England to finalise terms with the Canaries.
Celtic’s search for a striker reaches end game
Despite some reservations over Idah, Celtic needed someone to fill the void left by Hyeongyu Oh’s absence due to his involvement in the AFC Asian Cup.
Daizen Maeda is also capable of playing through the middle and has been missing since the early part of January.
Kyogo Furuhashi is the only available striker at the club with quantifiable senior experience. At the same time, youngster Rocco Vata is yet to reach clarity over his contract situation at Parkhead.
Irish forward Idah looks likely to come in off the back of seven goals and one assist in 34 outings this campaign, which isn’t a terrible return in the grand scheme of things, though it is neither prolific [Transfermarkt].
The Hoops seem to be willing to roll the dice on Idah, and time will tell whether it proves to be a shrewd bit of business at Parkhead amid scrutiny from fans over our current recruitment structure.
