The Adam Idah to Celtic saga has rumbled on for the entire summer but it seems that the Bhoys will soon be landing their man.

After a failed Celtic bid for the striker last month, the status of Idah’s move to Glasgow has been in limbo while he took part in Norwich City’s pre-season.

However, after sharing public love for the Bhoys, falling foul of Canaries boss Johannes Hoff Thorup and privately indicating his preferred destination this coming season – Celtic are primed to seal the deal finally.

Idah scored nine goals during an impressive loan spell in Scotland last season, helping Brendan Rodgers’ side to a league and cup double. The manager described him as a ‘catalyst’ for good form in the second half of the campaign.

No surprise then that Rodgers and Celtic are set to return for the forward in the coming days. The deal could now be wrapped up quickly.

Norwich sources indicate Adam Idah Celtic movement

The Scottish Sun are reporting that their Norwich sources believe the move will soon be completed, potentially even in time for the Scottish Premiership opener against Kilmarnock on Sunday.

It’s said that more talks between the two clubs will come over the next couple of days, at the very least.

There’s a tight timeframe for Idah to get up the road and be involved directly in the squad this weekend, but announcing his arrival before the season starts would be a nice boost for the club and the support.

Celtic set to finally make progress on outfield signings

Rodgers was tight-lipped on Idah in media interviews yesterday, respecting his status as a Norwich player but the momentum seems to be carrying the Republic of Ireland striker north.

With Paulo Bernardo also said to be on his way imminently, Celtic could get last season’s tied up on permanent contracts before a ball is kicked competitively.

It’s been a long summer for fans keen to see the squad strengthened. These two arrivals getting over the line quickly would give the club close to a month to further add to the squad in key positions such as centre-back and left-back.

It’s crucial that this business is just the start of a productive few weeks in the market with lots of work to do to best prepare Rodgers’ squad for the coming campaign.
