Celtic are in search of a striker in January.
Several names have been mentioned, including the unsurprising rumours of Kyogo Furuhashi possibly making a return to Glasgow.
The Celtic hero is struggling at Birmingham City, 12 months after leaving the champions of Scotland, but another name in the St Andrew’s dressing room has been mooted instead.
It was suggested on Go Radio that Celtic should make a push for Lyndon Dykes, and Peter Grant made his feelings clear on it all.
Should Celtic re-sign Kyogo in January?

Peter Grant reacts to suggestion Celtic should sign Lyndon Dykes from Birmingham City
You would think that if Celtic are going to sign a striker from Birmingham, it would be Kyogo.
But even though Dykes has the experience, and he has previously played in Scotland for several clubs, Grant dismissed the suggestion of the 30-year-old being the man for Wilfried Nancy.
Grant explained that Celtic need a one-touch striker, like Kyogo, not somebody who has the profile of Dykes.
Mark Guidi: “Dykes is an interesting shout. I have liked him when he has played for Scotland. I haven’t looked at his stats recently at Birmingham.
“But he has a presence. The way that Wilfried Nancy likes to play, he likes somebody with a bit of presence up there. He wouldn’t be my first choice, but I wouldn’t be against him because he would give them something different.”
Grant: “I can understand asking the question. I am not sure he is the type I would have. But I think the management would have to look at someone who is going to finish off that, first touch.
“Lyndon is a slightly different to that. I think when you get that one touch in the box, you have to be able to finish it. If he is playing with wing-backs, for me, as I said, I would play Donovan and Tierney.
“So, when the ball is coming into the box. You only need one touch to put the ball in the back of the net. Any striker who has played for Celtic can always finish off their first touch. I think Celtic needs that type of striker.”
You have £20m to spend in the January transfer window. How are you spending it?
Dykes’ career record
To put it simply, Celtic need somebody with a goalscoring profile and who can finish off these chances that are being created.
With respect to Dykes, he hasn’t been prolific in his career, even when he was playing in Scotland for Queen of the South and Livingston.
The much-criticised Johnny Kenny could be that battering ram for Celtic, but as Grant mentioned, that’s not what Nancy is looking for.
