Celtic will have to negotiate well to bring Mathias Kvistgaarden to the club in January with reports in Denmark suggesting Brondby will set a high asking price for the striker.
Kvistgaarden was first linked with the Bhoys during the summer transfer window and recent reporting suggests that Celtic will return with a renewed offer to sign him in January.
However, Tipsbladet reports that Brondby could be asking for as much as £8.5m for the forward and won’t entertain anything below £6.9m.
The outlet reckons a ‘game’ is developing between Brondby and interested parties as they are determined not to let their man go on the cheap.
Although Celtic have spent that kind of money before, it’d be a large fee for a 21-year-old from the Scandinavian leagues.
Kvistgaarden does appear to have talent but would the Bhoys take that size of a plunge on a player who may not even be a guaranteed start with Kyogo Furuhashi in the team? I’m not so sure.
Mathias Kvistgaarden has plenty of transfer suitors
The Danish under-21 international continues to appear for Brondby regularly has netted five goals, assisting seven more, in 17 appearances this term.
The striker does at least be willing to make a bigger move in the upcoming window, delivering an open-ended answer when asked about transfer interest in him last month.

That intent could well tip negotiations towards Celtic’s favour and bring the fee down to a more manageable level.
However, with apparent interest from clubs in other countries, a few stars have to align here for Kvistgaarden to arrive in Glasgow.
