Talks planned as club chiefs want in-form £8m rated Celtic player

Celtic have been lauded recently for their recruitment strategy after bringing the likes of Arne Engels and Luke McCowan to the club this season.

On top of that, the Parkhead club have also let players who are not in Brendan Rodgers’ plans leave the club in order to get first-team football.

Alexandro Bernabei is one of those players as the Argentine struggled to settle at Celtic Park after his big 2022 move from Lanus.

Now on loan at the Brazilian side, Internacional, Bernabei is tearing up trees and it it looks like moves are being made to make the temporary move permanent in December.

Internacional to fly to Europe and speak to Celtic about Alexandro Bernabei

A report in The Scottish Sun says Internacional bosses are flying to Europe to take in ‘several recruitment meetings’.

One of those meetings is believed to involve making a trip to Celtic Park where the Brazilian club is planning to thrash out a deal to make Bernabei’s loan spell a permanent one.

Celtic are said to be wanting around £8m for Bernabei but that price may well be too steep for the fifth-placed Brazilian Serie A side.

But when you look at the goalscoring form Bernabei is in right now, Celtic are correct to try and claw back the £3.75m fee they paid for the Argentine, and more.

What has been said about Alexandro Bernabei since his Celtic loan exit

Internacional is keen to keep Bernabei. That much is clear. Their club President waxed lyrical about the Celtic defender earlier this season saying ‘have already started talks with the player’s agent’ before they have spoken to Celtic.

Internacional’s fans are loving Bernabei right now as they laud the Celtic defender for his form this season whilst the Brazilian media are in awe of the on-loan Hoops man calling him ‘electric’.

Whatever happens with the 24-year-old now, it is clear that Internacional want Bernabei badly and if Celtic can cut the right deal, Rodgers should let him go.
