It has been a busy transfer window for Celtic so far.
But the 2025 summer transfer window probably isn’t going the way fans would have liked, especially from an incoming perspective.
Benjamin Nygren has signed to compete for the attacking options, whilst everyone knew and was waiting for Kieran Tierney’s return to his boyhood club.
Even if there are frustrated supporters, one thing you can’t argue is that Celtic just know how to get business done, no matter who is in the dugout or who is involved.

Celtic’s transfer sales labelled ‘staggering’
There is plenty of money in the Celtic pot, that’s for sure, and it’s something Hugh Keevins wanted to bring up on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard.
Keevins labelled Celtic’s recent sales, as he mentioned Nicolas Kuhn joining Como for close to £17 million, and Kyogo Furuhashi’s January exit for £10 million, as ‘staggering’.
The Scottish pundit and journalist also wanted to note how Celtic have ‘£30 million’ in the bank from deals concluded in 2025, and how it needs to be spent.
“The profit margin is staggering,” said Keevins. “Celtic make a habit of this, and that’s why they are cash-rich.
“But, on the other side of the coin, they are minus Nicolas Kuhn, minus Jota, sadly, because of a serious injury and won’t be seen again this year. Minus Kyogo, who left in January, and he hasn’t been adequately replaced.
“Celtic, having taken in £30 million in 2025, are obliged to assist Brendan Rodgers and get this money, if not all of it, a very large percentage of it spent on new arrivals.
“The Nicolas Kuhn transfer is a staggering piece of business by Celtic. Adding to their other staggering pieces of business, but they have accumulated now tens of millions, and they are obliged to keep taking the club in a forward-going direction.
“They are obliged to keep going forward. To grow in stature. No-one knows if Brendan Rodgers is here for this season alone and goes or has it in his mind to sign an extension.”
How fans would feel if Celtic don’t spend any more money
The new Premiership season is less than a month away, as Celtic kick off their campaign against St Mirren, and they also have Champions League qualifiers to deal with in August.
This is why some sections of the support are getting impatient because they feel a centre-back, striker, left-sided attacker, and cover for Callum McGregor are still needed.
Keevins feels that if the powers that be at Celtic don’t bring in more new faces, then the reaction from the fans would be one of disbelief.
“But I can guarantee you that if Brendan Rodgers feels he is getting in the players he needs to develop the squad, and remember it was only last May they lost a Scottish Cup final to Aberdeen, on a day the squad was found wanting,” added Keevins.
“That’s what Brendan Rodgers wants to see. I am not saying it has to be done the day after tomorrow. I am simply saying, if you said to the Celtic supporters, ‘Celtic don’t need to spend any more money, they are good to go at the start of the season.’ I think, and I can’t guarantee, 99% would say, ‘you are joking.'”
