Celtic’s transfer window is beginning to heat up as the links continue and rumours of more arrivals intensify.

Julian Araujo was the first signing of the January window after joining on loan from Bournemouth for the season.

The Hoops are seemingly closing in on another deal too as reports suggest that a deal for Ivorian winger Jocelin Ta Bi is close to completion.

Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Laquintana is another name that has been linked and there seems to be legs with this one as details of the offer Celtic are prepared to make has been revealed.

Is this the sort of player Celtic should be targeting?

Celtic interested in ‘Nacho’ Laquintana

Laquintana is of interest to Celtic after catching the eye for Red Bull Bragantino and Santos in Brazil.

He spent last season on loan at the latter, where he played with Neymar, off the back of recovering from a long-term injury.

According to The Herald, Celtic have been in discussions with Bragantino about the 26-year-old, and are prepared to offer a loan-to-buy deal.

With the World Cup later this year, Laquintana knows that regular football in a competitive league could be enough to secure a place on the plane.

Are Celtic finally being proactive in the transfer window?

It may be early days, but there are plenty of rumours and hints that suggest that Celtic are not messing around in the transfer window.

One signing is through the door and two more appear to be in progress.

That doesn’t mean a pat on the back, by the way. It means that they need to keep the momentum going and get more through the door.

A centre-back, central midfielder and striker are also needed, with goalkeeper a position that could happily be improved too.
