Celtic are three games into pre-season, and Brendan Rodgers tasted his first defeat on Saturday in Portugal.

This is a two-game trip, with Celtic losing to Estrela on Saturday afternoon ahead of their clash against Sporting Lisbon, and the usual negative reaction from certain parts of the support.

Of course, the main part of the frustration from the Celtic Park faithful is the need for more players to beef up the quality within the squad.

One man’s name has been doing the rounds for a while now is Motherwell’s sought-after star, Lennon Miller.

Will Celtic sign Lennon Miller?

There is a section of Celtic fans who want Miller signed because the 18-year-old was one of the best players in the Premiership last season.

Andy Halliday shares a dressing room with Miller, and he has spoken about the Scotland international returning to pre-season ahead of the new campaign.

Speaking on Open Goal, Halliday was pushed by his fellow pundit about Miller’s future, and he shared that there has been ‘loads of interest’.

Si Ferry asks: “What’s happening with Lennon Miller. Give us a wee insight. Is he going or what? His dad has been breaking it on PLZ Soccer. You need to do it.”

Halliday responded: “I don’t think there has been an official bid, to my knowledge. But I think there has been loads of interest. Loads of people enquiring, but no bids.”

Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou’s honest admission about Miller

Motherwell have a new manager in the Fir Park dugout in Jens Berthel Askou, and he has spoken honestly about Miller’s future.

By the sounds of it, Miller will be leaving this summer; it’s just a case of where and when that official bid will be put on the table.

“There has obviously been a lot of interest, and it’s busy around Lennon,” Askou told BBC Sport. “There’s a lot of manoeuvring in the market around him.

“There’s nothing concrete right now, but it could change quickly. He’s dealing with it really, really well. He’s really pleased with the role he has in the team now and what we are trying to do because it suits him.

“He’s a fantastic football player, a very, very big talent that you don’t see very often. So we know the day will come. We will announce that when it’s the right time to announce whether there’s something specific on him.”
