Celtic’s January transfer window has no time to stall.

What’s interesting is that, despite the immense pressure on Wilfried Nancy, it isn’t stopping Celtic from bringing in players this month.

Celtic are looking to sign Julian Araujo from Bournemouth on a loan deal until the end of the season, but encountered an issue with the Premier League club.

But, two days into the window, Araujo is edging ever closer to securing a January move to the champions of Scotland.

Julian Araujo is in Glasgow ahead of a loan move to Celtic

The one stumbling block with this move was the fact that Bournemouth could not push forward with another international loan because they had already met their full quota.

There is a limit to how many players clubs can loan out, but now it seems as though Dominic Sadi will be recalled from his loan spell at Novi Pazar.

Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam is the expert when it comes to all things Bournemouth, and he added on social media that Araujo is now in Glasgow, ‘awaiting a medical.’

‘Celtic have agreed a loan deal for Bournemouth right-back Julian Araujo,’ wrote McAdam.

‘It’s understood he is in Glasgow and awaiting a medical. Bournemouth are potentially recalling Dominic Sadi from his loan at Novi Pazar, which will free up an international loan space for Araujo’s move.’

Where does Wilfried Nancy go from here?

Are Celtic right to back Wilfried Nancy?

So, it looks as though Araujo will be Nancy’s first signing of the January transfer window, and he will compete to play at right wing-back.

The issue here is that Celtic have lost five matches under his stewardship, and the Frenchman is on the thinnest of ice.

It’s the small matter of Celtic facing Rangers in the Glasgow derby at the weekend. It’s pretty simple; lose that, and Nancy is in a world of trouble.

Yes, the Hoops need to bring players in because it has been a woeful start to the campaign, but Nancy won’t be in charge much longer if this form continues, and then you wonder who is making these signings and for whose significance.
