Celtic have one dream signing in the building – Kasper Hogh – now they want Haissem Hassan signed up.
Hassan enjoyed a fruitful World Cup campaign with Egypt, where he impressed Celtic supporters, and then rumours started to emerge about the club’s interest in his services.
In recent days, the rumour mill around Hassan and Celtic has become a bit hectic, from suggestions of a deal being close to talks that Serie A champions Inter are keen.
In Hassan’s motherland of Egypt, the media are suggesting that he is ‘nearing a move’ to the champions of Scotland, as reported by ON Sport.

Egyptian media think Haissem Hassan will join Celtic
Egyptian broadcaster ON Sport, with over three million followers on social media, explained that Hassan ‘grabbed the attention of the international media’ with his performances at this summer’s World Cup.
It noted the speculation around the Real Oviedo star and ‘negotiations with European teams’, including Liverpool, where Mohamed Salah earned his legendary status.
But the Egyptian media then noted the Glasgow Times and how Hassan was close to joining Celtic, claiming that his contract has a ‘£10 million’ release clause, which was recently reduced from just over ‘£15 million.’
ON Sport continued to highlight Hassan’s qualities and how it proved to the world that ‘Egyptian talent is always present.’
It seems like, from the perspective of the Egyptian media, the noise they are getting is that Hassan will be a Celtic player this summer, and how his World Cup performances have helped him grab the Hoops’ attention.
While they are reporting that, it needs to be noted that several high-profile and reliable Scottish journalists are reporting otherwise.
Either way, it’s one to watch out for, and just like Celtic signing Hogh, this would be another statement of intent heading into the new Premiership season.
