Celtic have had a number of names already linked to the club this summer.

Reported Celtic target Youssef El Kachati is one name said to be on Brendan Rodgers’ list this summer as the Hoops boss looks to strengthen ahead of the new season.

The Moroccan has been on fire in the Dutch second tier with Telstar scoring 25 goals in 45 games to earn their promotion to the Eredivisie which has clearly led to rumoured Celtic interest.

Over his whole career, El Kachati has made 189 appearances and scored 84 goals but after securing Telstar’s promotion, it looks like he could be on his way out of the club but could his destination be Celtic?

What Celtic target Youssef El Kachati admitted about his Telstar future

El Kachati was one of Telstar’s most important players. After leading the club to seventh place in the league and into the Dutch top-flight via the playoffs, here is what he said about his immediate future at the newly promoted club.

El Kachati told Voetbal Primeur, “I knew this would be my last match in the Telstar shirt

“I thought to myself: I’m completely exhausted. Even if they have to take me off the field on a stretcher. So be it.

“I had to go to the Eredivisie with those guys.”

So if this was the 25-year-old’s last game for Telstar, where could El Kachati’s next destination be?

Youssef El Kachati admits contact ‘with multiple clubs’ amid Celtic rumours

With Celtic said to be in the mix, it appears that the Hoops are not the club interested as El Kachati names the team who are closest to signing him.

El Kachati continues, “That’s right. My agents have been in contact with NEC. With multiple clubs. I’m going to enjoy this party first.

“First the tribute. Then I’ll slowly look at it with my agents and make a decision.”

So it appears that if Celtic are aiming to add the Moroccan to their ranks, Brendan Rodgers will need to act quickly.

With the transfer window opening on the 12th of June for Celtic and clubs across Europe, there is still time for the Bhoys to nick in there and nab El Kachati if Rodgers so wishes.

With Champions League football to tempt him, the striker may yet end up at Parkhead.
