Celtic look close to making their fourth signing of the summer as Brendan Rodgers continues to assemble his squad.

Three players have joined Celtic in this summer transfer window and more are expected through the door at Celtic Park.

Callum Osmand is one of those expected to arrive and another who has been linked is J-League defender Hayato Inamura.

The Bhoys have been in talks with Albirex Niigata and a deal to bring the centre-back to Glasgow is close to being done.

Now, Japanese media have revealed when Celtic fans can expect signing number four to walk through the door.

Hayato Inamura to play final game for Albirex Niigata

According to Japanese outlet Sponichi, Inamura will play his final game for Albirex Niigata against Machida Zelvia on 29 June.

They added that he will then head to Europe to finalise the deal and join the Hoops.

Inamura has divided the Celtic fanbase due to his lack of senior experience having only made his first steps in the professional game six months ago.

A left-footed centre-back is something that has been on Rodgers’ shortlist for a while.

Cameron Carter-Vickers has the right-sided centre-back slot locked down and that opens the door for someone to play alongside him.

Liam Scales and Auston Trusty have failed to make it theirs and Maik Nawrocki, who could return to Poland, hasn’t been given a chance.

Crucially, none of those are left footed and that gives the incoming 23-year-old a chance to stake a claim for a starting spot.

Inamura’s defensive stats are a cause for concern, but by playing next to Carter-Vickers, he may be given the perfect crash course in the art of defending and improve.
