Even Pat Nevin noticed what Celtic did moments after the full-time whistle against Rangers

Celtic Park wasn’t a pleasant place to be on Saturday.

Amazingly enough, after 45 minutes, Celtic supporters were pretty happy because Wilfried Nancy’s side were beating Rangers 1-0 following Yang’s wonder solo strike.

However, as Nancy has showcased throughout his tenure so far, in the second half of games, everything and anything can go wrong, and it happened again against Rangers, to the disgust and anger of those paying their tickets.

After Rangers scored their third goal, the atmosphere inside the stadium turned toxic, with Kasper Schmeichel being booed by his own fans.

Pat Nevin was at Parkhead to watch this nightmare unfold, and even he noticed how Celtic tried to drown out the negative noise from the stands.

If Wilfried Nancy was to be sacked, who would you want to become the next Celtic manager?

Pat Nevin on Celtic drowning out negative noise after defeat to Rangers

Many Celtic fans had left the stadium before the full-time whistle could be blown, but from those who stayed, they were going to voice their anger.

Usually, as the full-time whistle blows, that’s when the players and the manager would hear the real frustration from those in the stands.

But as Nevin pointed out on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport, Celtic blasted the music inside the stadium to ‘full volume’ to ‘drown out that negativity that is around this stadium right now.’

“You listen to the music in the background, that’s full volume to drown out that negativity that is around this stadium right now,” said Nevin.

“To see a team play so exceptionally well in that first 45 minutes, to be out of ideas in the second half.”

Will Celtic fans vote with their feet?

Nancy is still the Celtic manager, and, as of this moment, he is preparing for a home clash against Dundee United on Saturday.

You wonder if supporters will now vote with their feet and not turn up to that Dundee United game because this is the lowest Celtic have been in decades.

It’s a busy January period for the Hoops, with Premiership, Scottish Cup and Europa League matches on the card, including a trip to Bologna and Hearts at the end of the month.
