Wilfried Nancy is Celtic bound, and you guys here on 67 Hail Hail have cast your votes on how you feel about the appointment.

Widespread reports have said that Nancy will join Celtic on 1 December due to his release clause becoming cheaper to activate from next month.

The Frenchman has been given ringing endorsements from MLS experts for the work he has done with CF Montreal and Columbus Crew.

A deal will also be finalised to bring in Nancy’s own backroom staff after a number left alongside Brendan Rodgers, including long-serving coach John Kennedy, who had served for 25 years.

It is a move that has divided the opinion among the Celtic fanbase, and the results are now in.

As the speculation over Nancy has intensified over recent weeks, the 67 Hail Hail audience were given the chance to have their say on the 48-year-old’s appointment.

Almost 2,000 supporters gave their view on the decision, and it seemed to be a borderline overwhelming opinion.

In the end, more Hoops fans gave the view that they wouldn’t be happy with Nancy becoming the new Celtic manager.

59.65 per cent of the votes went in favour of no, while the other 40.35 per cent backed the decision.

Wilfried Nancy’s record speaks for itself

There may be some doubts about the Frenchman’s pedigree ahead of coming to Celtic Park, the 48-year-old has impressed in both of his roles.

With more than 200 games under his belt, the incoming boss has won almost half of those in charge and, crucially, won trophies.

It puts theories like Colin Miller’s about Nancy to bed and will hopefully provide some extra comfort to those fans who are fearing that this may be too big a gamble.
