67 Hail Hail had the crystal ball out before Celtic made the short trip to face Aston Villa in the Champions League.

The tie was a dramatic one as the Premier League side sadly came out on top 4-2 but it was a brave performance from the Hoops.

There were a few strong performers on the night with Reo Hatate and Greg Taylor both showing up well with the left-back in particular earning a Stiliyan Petrov shout-out.

It ended the League Phase of the competition and sets the Scottish Premiership champions up nicely for a glamour knockout playoff tie against either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

No pressure, then.

Our man Patrick Sinat spoke to BBC Sportsound before kick-off to preview the action as well as discuss numerous issues including Jota’s return and the transfer market as a whole.

It was another interesting conversation for our writer who predicted one key outcome before the game began.

All Adam Idah needed was one goal.

What 67 Hail Hail said about Celtic striker Adam Idah before Aston Villa game

Speaking to the Beeb, Our bhoy Sinat said: “(Idah) is a striker Rodgers likes. He’s big, he’s strong and if you look back at previous players that Rodgers has played up front like Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard, he fits the profile.

“He’s just lacking in confidence, Kenny, he just needs to get that goal.

“And I felt for him last week when it looked as if he was going to finally score against Young Boys, but he obviously played a big part in the own goal.

“But I think once he gets that elusive goal, I mean, what is it, he’s not scored in the last 10 games? So I think for for him, it’s getting the goal and I think we’ll see him flying like last season.”

Of course, it came to fruition with the big Irishman hitting a stunning brace to shut down critics including motormouth duo Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy.

BBC’s shoutout to 67 Hail Hail after Adam Idah Celtic prediction

The English media also reacted to Celtic’s efforts and claimed they had “made a mockery” of their critics.

But it was the Scottish press who shouted out 67 Hail Hail upon the full-time whistle, and Sinat in particular as they remembered exactly what was said before the game began.

Presenter Kenny McIntyre said on BBC Sportsound: “We were joined earlier by a couple of Celtic fans, Paddy was one of them and he said, ‘Adam Idah just needed that goal.’

“He said thanks for having me on with my big hero Pat Bonner.”
