Auston Trusty’s first season in Celtic colours is going rather well.
The USMNT international has come from an environment at Sheffield United, where they were relegated to the Premier League in an abject fashion, to a Celtic stage where you just don’t have to win every game, but in style.
And, as Trusty’s first campaign in Scotland is coming to a close, he is heading towards winning the Treble, with the Premiership title all but wrapped up.

| 2 | 30 | 19 | 5 | 6 | 62 | 28 | 34 | 62 | |

The man who is front and centre of that relentless winning attitude is captain Callum McGregor and he is the first name on Brendan Rodgers’ teamsheet.
Everyone gets to see what McGregor is like on the field of play, how he takes the ball anywhere on the pitch, dictates play and runs the show no matter who Celtic are playing.
But the Celtic Park faithful don’t get to see what McGregor is like behind the scenes, and it won’t be a surprise to anyone.

Auston Trusty is amazed by Callum McGregor’s way of recovering
Players in the modern game have the red carpet rolled out for them and they are given everything to be in the best possible shape.
Trusty shared that he loves to ‘get a massage’, as well as doing ‘hot and cold baths’ when he is recovering from matches.
But Trusty stated that McGregor is one of the players who doesn’t need to do a lot and that he has hardly ever seen him on the massage table, as he told Celtic TV.
“Recovery-wise, everyone has their own ways to recover,” said Trusty.
“Some guys do very minimal. Some guys do a lot. I love to get a massage. I am always on the massage table. I am doing a hot bath. Cold bath. Kind of all the bits and bobs I can do and get my hands on.
“Then, some guys may not need a lot. Callum (McGregor) is really amazing. I don’t really see him on the table. He does his cold bath. Hotub, and then he is out.
“But every single game he is on it. Every single day. It’s pretty amazing what he does.”
Trusty on ‘amazing’ Celtic mindset amid domination
Celtic’s defeat to Rangers before the international break was an issue because it’s the same problematic performance rearing its ugly head again in the Glasgow derby.
That’s why it’s going to be interesting to see how the players react to the trip to Ibrox after the split.
Even with Celtic pushing for the Treble and being so clear at the top of the Premiership table, the mindset within the group is still of the highest quality and Trusty is learning all of that now.
“It’s pretty amazing and being an outsider, then seeing the mindset,” said Trusty. “It’s very easy for the guys to switch off.
“You obviously want to have zero losses, but to only have two is a real testament to the team. Just the whole organisation and with the mindset of how you approach things. It’s very easy to just let off and just do your thing. The team is really, really good too.
“But you want to have the same consistency. Win by a lot of goals and play really well every game.”
