Celtic’s pre-season schedule is well underway now that Brendan Rodgers and his team are in the United States at the moment.

The Celtic boss has already faced Scott Brown’s Ayr United in a 1-1 draw and Queen’s Park in a 6-4 goal fest as he put the Bhoys through their early pre-season paces.

Now in the US to complete their 2024 Summer Tour, the Celtic boss now needs to get his team prepared to face MLS side DC United and English Premier League big boys Manchester City and Chelsea.

And whilst these games will provide Celtic with a tough test, there was a mystery game against Burnley that no one really knows what happened in.

Celtic vs Burnley pre-season mystery addressed by Rodgers

Speaking in America as the team settled into their new surroundings and about the upcoming games, the Celtic boss touched on the Burnley friendly and admitted that two Celtic first-team players took part in the closed-doors game.

Rodgers said [Daily Record], “Great tests, aye! Some really good tests. So, fingers crossed!

“Yeah, obviously Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate were with us for our Burnley game behind closed doors and the other internationals are back and ready.”

Rumours on social media have suggested that Celtic won that match 3-1 but, as yet, there has been no official confirmation on that or the rest of the Hoops team that took on The Clarets at the Gawthorpe training ground.

But for now, the US trip and transfer talk are all that is on the Celtic fans’ minds right now. With Viljami Sinisalo the first signing of the summer, Kasper Schmeichel should be next after his medical was scheduled for this week.

With Adam Idah making it clear he wants to join Celtic and talks currently ongoing for Paulo Bernardo, the next few days could be set to be busy ones in terms of transfer news for the Celtic supporters.
