Celtic’s final game before the dreaded international break is a home clash against Rangers.

The international break is universally disliked because it disrupts the domestic games, especially the three breaks at the start of the season.

But, at least Celtic head into the final break of the window flying high, 16 points clear in the Premiership table and pushing for the Treble.

As you can understand, many of the current stars, from the goalscoring machine Daizen Maeda to the ever-reliable Cameron Carter-Vickers, will be away with their countries for the next few weeks.

Some are yet to be confirmed because the squads haven’t been released yet, but Celtic fans now know who will be representing Scotland for a double-header against Greece in the UEFA Nations League.

Anthony Ralston is on board and keeps his place in the squad, but Luke McCowan has missed out, as a certain Celtic transfer target has earned his maiden call-up.

Lennon Miller has been linked with Celtic for some time now and there is a healthy chance that he is playing at Parkhead next season.

There have been suggestions that a £4 million price tag has been slapped on Miller’s head, but you sense that might have now soared.

Given Miller’s debut call-up to Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad, you wouldn’t blame Motherwell for inflating his price and that’s without getting on the pitch at Hampden yet.

The teenager also joins Kieran Tierney in the squad, the Arsenal defender, who returns to his boyhood club in the summer, has made a comeback after getting injured at Euro 2024.

Miller’s season in numbers for Motherwell

At the age of 18, Miller just isn’t a regular for a Motherwell side pushing for a top-six finish, but he has also donned the captain’s armband.

Aside from a recent injury that saw him miss Celtic’s win at Fir Park, he is having an outstanding season and you can see why there is strong interest in him, with WhoScored rating his performances at 7.11.

Celtic have brought in some serious quality to their midfield over the years and it’s worth putting money on the table for Miller.

Added to that, Rodgers has proven time and time again that he can improve the young stars, as you would back him to do the same with Miller.
