Brendan Rodgers’ press conference on Friday was one of the most anticipated in recent memory.
An international break coming immediately after Transfer Deadline Day left the Celtic boss with a few weeks to mull over what his message would be.
It was no secret that he would be frustrated – Rodgers’ public transfer demands did not come to fruition.
But the Northern Irishman has grown a reputation for his media handling, and picking words carefully – so it’s little surprise that he came through with 30 minutes of ‘box office’ conversation.
Given Rodgers’ refusal to criticise the fans’ discontent at the Hoops board, reaction to the conference has been positive – we picked out some of the best responses.
Celtic fans full of praise for Brendan Rodgers media address
Supporters were made to wait to hear the Parkhead boss’ thoughts on the transfer window – and in that time, interesting media reports have raised questions over his immediate future.

And for Celtic fans on X, the comments reflected well on the 52-year-old.
@Paul11326521 said: “What a fantastic interview. Rodgers spoke so well, so calm and measured. Well done sir.”
Another user agreed, saying: “Probably one of the best press conferences a Celtic manager has ever done. Perfectly answered and said all the right things.”
Some even went as far as calling it a masterclass, with @gigicullen0502 saying: “A masterclass. He doesn’t miss.”
Another said: “Elite-level Brendan Rodgers. Box office Brendan Rodgers, That was a masterclass from the Celtic manager at his press conference today.”
The moment where Rodgers took aim at the ‘cowardly’ individual who briefed damning information against him to the media was singled out for praise by some supporters.
@weepelewele said: “The wink after the question on if he knows tells you everything.”
@Howey_93 also noted the wink, saying: “Addressed it well, he knows exactly who leaked it. Box office Brendan.”
Rodgers’ comments certainly haven’t always been the most popular among Hoops fans, so it’s telling to see so many praising what he has said on this occasion.
What now for Brendan Rodgers after his media comments?
Rodgers hasn’t closed the door on extending his Celtic contract, despite voicing his frustrations.
However, he has been clear that his working conditions must change if he is to consider it. This, ultimately, is completely out of his hands.
Michael Nicholson and Dermot Desmond will ultimately determine Rodgers’ future, and the Northern Irishman has insisted that he enjoys a positive relationship with both.
His immediate concerns are on the pitch, though, as he looks to improve the mood with results.
