Brendan Rodgers has been told it is absolutely vital that he drops Adam Idah if he has any hopes of beating Motherwell on Sunday.
With the team struggling for form and dropping more points against Kilmarnock last weekend, the Celtic manager cannot afford any more slip-ups with just twelve games left of the season.
Celtic’s next fixture is a tough away trip to Motherwell this Sunday lunchtime and John Hartson believes that dropping Adam Idah will give the Hoops gaffer the best chance to get all three points.
Hartson said [The Go Radio Football Show], “Well, my team would be, I would change it slightly. I wouldn’t play Idah.
“Not because I want to be too critical but I think now, it’s a crucial stage of the season and we don’t need players that are really not tested.
“Not to say that he won’t become a very good player but at this moment in time, we need your best players that have been over the course a little bit for us.”
The jury is still out on Adam Idah
The on-loan Norwich striker got off to a great start to his Celtic career with an assist against Aberdeen and a double at Easter Road in the 2-1 win over Hibs.

He also linked up well with Kyogo Furuhashi in the 2-0 Scottish Cup win over St Mirren and played relatively well in the draw against Kilmarnock. [Fotmob]
However, he has been found wanting in front of goal. Against Hibs, he hit the bar from five yards out and he also mistimed a header against Kilmarnock from the same distance and had he converted, would have put the game out of site.
All the hype surrounding his ‘partnership’ with Kyogo will need to start paying dividends soon. Celtic are now two points behind Rangers in the title race and the fans now need to see Idah step where it matters and start scoring more regularly.
