Celtic have been busy in the transfer window so far.

Six players have joined the Hoops this summer and there are plans to add more to the ranks.

Talks for several Celtic transfer targets are still in progress and Brendan Rodgers is hoping they will all be at the club in time for the season opener on 3 August.

Liam Scales’ pre-season performance has Celtic fans pining for a centre-back to join the club and there were some loose reports suggesting that an old target could be back on their radar.

However, any chances of him coming to Parkhead after the latest transfer development.

Dinamo Zagreb set to complete Scott McKenna transfer

Scott McKenna has been linked with Celtic in the past and after leaving Spanish side Las Palmas following their relegation to the second tier, became a free agent in the summer.

The former Aberdeen centre-back had been briefly linked with a host of Scottish Premiership clubs but is set to continue his tour of Europe elsewhere and join Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb.

Croatian news outlet 24sata revealed that McKenna had arrived for a medical on Monday (15 July) and will sign a four-year contract.

Zagreb were linked with Greg Taylor earlier this year but the full-back opted to sign for PAOK in Greece instead.

Three things are inevitable in life: Death, taxes and Scott McKenna being linked with Celtic.

Ever since coming through the ranks at Aberdeen, the Scotland international has been tipped for a move to Paradise but, for one reason or another, that’s never come to fruition.

It’s gotten to the point where even McKenna himself has acknowledged it in 2024, before revealing he’s never been in contact with the Hoops.

He said: “I think there were a few down south when I was playing every week and everyone knew I was happy there was none of that.

“But I think obviously as contracts run down it starts to pick up a bit. But as I mentioned, there has never really been any substance to it in terms of conversations with the club or anything like that.”
