There is huge pressure on Adam Idah ahead of the new season.
With Celtic still searching for a new striker, and Daizen Maeda expected to play on the left due to Jota’s long-term injury, it means Idah is more needed down the middle.
As of this moment, Celtic haven’t brought in that striker to properly challenge players like Idah, with summer signing Callum Osmand yet to taste first-team football.
Many strikers have been linked with a move to Parkhead, and now Idah’s fellow countryman can be ruled out because Evan Ferguson is heading to Serie A.

Evan Ferguson’s transfer price revealed as Celtic transfer target picks AS Roma
Celtic paid £9 million for Idah, and that has proven to be a talking point, as well as added pressure on the player.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, with Ferguson opting to join Roma, his parent club wants £39 million for his signature.
Roma are trying to ‘close the player’s deal for less’, as Ferguson could soon be playing in Italy’s top-tier if a deal is struck between both parties.
Adam Idah and Ferguson comparison
Idah is enough of a talking point, because of his price tag, so the last thing you want to do is sign his fellow countryman for more.
The price tag is way out of Celtic’s reach, and whilst there was interest from the champions of Scotland, it was never going to happen.
Even if Roma bring down that £39 million transfer fee, Celtic had no chance, and the club is better off looking elsewhere.
