Celtic are badly in need of a striker and there was chat before Christmas about the potential return of Kyogo Furuhashi.
For some odd reason, it looks like Celtic are prioritising winger Jocelin Ta Bi as Wilfried Nancy looks like he’s set to make his second addition of the January transfer window.
In Celtic’s defeat to Rangers, the Bhoys missed a hatful of first-half chances to put the game to bed but Johnny Kenny and Shin Yamada failed, again, to hit the back of the net.
Should Celtic re-sign Kyogo in January?
With Kelechi Iheanacho still on the Celtic treatment table, the need for a striker has never been more stark.
As chat continues about Kyogo Furuhashi returning to Celtic, how much Birmingham City are paying the Japanese striker could put paid to any notion of him returning to Paradise.

Celtic hero Kyogo Furuhashi is Birmingham City’s highest earner
Kyogo joined Birmingham City after a failed spell at Rennes destroyed the Japanese striker’s confidence.
And when he penned his three-year deal, the Championship club made the former Celtic man their highest-paid player according to Capology.
Kyogo is paid £35,000 per week which is £5,000 more than the previously highest-paid player at the club, Demarai Gray.
The former Celtic striker earns more than double his fellow countryman Kanya Fujimoto and almost three times more than last season’s top goalscorer Jay Stansfield.
With just one goal to his name, Kyogo is not delivering what Birmingham are paying him for and that could be enough to see him be discarded by his second club in two years.
Would Celtic pay Kyogo Furuhashi £35,000 per week?
Absolutely not, and nor should they. Kyogo’s form fell off a cliff before he left Celtic and he has never recovered.
The only way Celtic should pay that kind of money is for a striker who is bang on form and has experience at the top level.
While Kyogo had that at Celtic, it’s been two years since he has gone on any sort of decent goalscoring run, and this is a transfer the club should avoid, unless it’s a loan deal and the Japan star takes a massive pay cut.
