Tonight marks the start of the celebrations for James Forrest‘s long-term service at Celtic. The 32-year-old winger is set to be honoured in a testimonial match tonight with Athletic Club taking part in the occasion.
With a late upsurge in ticket sales, tonight does promise to be a memorable one for Forrest and no one can deny that the Celtic stalwart deserves it. And in a gesture that truly sums up Forrest, he will be donating a significant portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales to two charities.
And on Flag Day, Celtic continue to honour Forrest as he has been given the task of unfurling the league title flag in front of 60,000 supporters on Saturday afternoon.

In a statement released by Celtic on Twitter, the club said, “Celtic Park will host another Flag Day this Saturday for #CELROS on the opening day of the new #cinchPrem season!
“James Forrest will have the honour of unfurling the flag ahead of the game at Paradise in the same week of his testimonial match.”
Involved in Celtic at youth level from the age of 13, Forrest has earned the status of a ‘one man club‘. Signed professionally by the Hoops in 2009, the legend has gone on to win an incredible 11 league titles, six Scottish Cups and five league cups.

He has also appeared, and scored, in every one of Celtic’s second nine-in-a-row seasons. A truly outstanding achievement.
What a gesture by the club and one that is fully deserved. Forrest’s contribution to Celtic’s history cannot be denied. With over 100 goals and assists for Celtic, the winger has given every supporter of many generations memories that they will cherish.
With a big crowd expected a Paradise, those very fans of every generation will get the opportunity to thank Forrest for his service and for the special memories over the last 13 years.
