Celtic and Rangers both played in crucial European ties last week.

The Hoops secured their place in the Champions League playoff places after Brendan Rodgers led Celtic to beat Young Boys at Celtic Park.

Rangers, on the other hand, suffered a defeat at Man United in UEFA’s second-tier competition as the Premier League strugglers left it late to secure three crucial Europa League qualification points.

Celtic’s third Champions League win of the season helped Brendan Rodgers create another piece of European history and after watching both Scottish clubs, Troy Deeney has shared what would happen to Man United if they were allowed to compete against the Bhoys for the Scottish Premiership title.

Troy Deeney delivers verdict on what Celtic would do vs Man United in SPFL

This argument came up last week where even Jason Cundy believed Celtic would beat Man United in a race for the Scottish title.

And Deeney, who was sacked by Foret Green Rovers last season, delivered his verdict if Celtic and the Premier League club had to compete for Scotland’s top prize.

Deeney told talkSPORT [16m], “Celtic would give them a problem. Based on that performance last night Celtic would.

“That’s my first time watching Man United in the flesh. I don’t like really judging people off TV. Actually, sorry, it’s the second time I did [watch them against] Arsenal.”

Celtic’s season in the Scottish Premiership vs Man United’s in the English Premier League

Celtic are absolutely coasting their way to another Scottish Premiership title this season under Brendan Rodgers.

After 23 games played, Celtic are ten points clear of Rangers after winning 19 games, drawing three and losing just once.

Brendan Rodgers’ team has racked up a positive goal difference of +53, 25 more than Rangers, as the Celtic manager secures his place at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

Man United, on the other hand, are languishing in 12th place in the English Premier League table with just eight wins from 23.

Ruben Amorin’s team have also drawn five and lost an incredible 10 games and has an embarrassing goal difference of minus four.

Man United have the same points gap between fourth-placed Man City and 17th-placed Leicester City as the fallen giants try to recapture the glory days that must seem like a distant memory now, that they enjoyed under Alex Ferguson.

Celtic wouldn’t just give Man United a problem, if the English club were competing in Scotland with the same budget as everyone else, Brendan Rodgers’ team would wipe the floor with them.
