Callum McGregor is Celtic’s iron man and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
The club captain is always on the team sheet unless he’s unfit – which is never the case – or Brendan Rodgers looks to rest him.
McGregor is a record breaker within the Hoops side and his influence is clear to see.
As vice skipper, Cameron Carter-Vickers is so important to the club’s backline and only injury has prevented the American this season from playing an equal amount to McGregor.
Kris Commons played with McGregor during his time in Glasgow and knows how vital he is to the way his team play as he dictates the middle of the park.
But he has predicted another player could well become a Celtic captain in the years to come.
Kieran Tierney is on his way back to Parkhead after an agreement was struck on a pre-contract from Arsenal this month.

Kieran Tierney could be a Celtic captain
Brendan Rodgers wants the defender in January but the Gunners are refusing to sanction his exit and will keep him for the next six months.
Still, it won’t stop KT making the stunning comeback and for Commons that proves – if we ever needed any – Tierney‘s love and desire to play for the club again.
It is also the mark of a good captain, says Commons, who reckons the 27-year-old experienced pro would be the ideal man to learn from for the younger lads in the academy and those around the fringes of the first-team.
Speaking on PLZ Soccer, Commons had his say on Tierney and his chances of making captain down the line.
Kris Commons lists Tierney’s leadership skills
He said: “I think between 27 and 31, you would say that your body is at optimum, peak performance. Experience, just the knowledge of the game. The understanding, the tactical side.
“And knowing exactly whereabouts your supposed to be on the field and your role off it.
“I know that Kieran Tierney will probably be a captain in the making. I know that that’s something he’s certainly played a bit-part in.

“But yeah, I think Kieran Tierney will be a captain of the future.
“If he keeps himself fit and plays week-in week-out, there’s no question. For the young team coming through at the moment.
“You know 15, 16, 17-year-old lads that have got aspirations to play for Celtic’s first-team, Kieran Tierney will be a player you will be looking up to and trying to emulate what he’s achieved these last 10 years.”
