The Celtic transfer chat has been going on all week as the fans and pundits continue to speculate on who Brendan Rodgers is looking to bring in to strengthen the squad.
The Celtic boss confirmed that Paulo Bernardo will be his third summer signing yesterday as he intimated a timeline of when he expects the midfielder to join the club permanently.
There has also been the Adam Idah saga which has been going on this week after the Norwich City striker caused a bit of a pre-season stir after missing the Championship club’s friendly draw against Hoffenheim.
And on top of all that, the discussion about the possibility of Lawrence Shankland joining Celtic has also nabbed some headlines this week.
So it’s been all go for the Hoops support and now, Peter Grant has thrown his two cents in as he explains who he would rather have at Celtic between Idah and Shankland.
Grant says Celtic ‘need’ Idah more than Shankland
The former Hoops hero was asked if he thinks the Hearts striker has what it takes to play for Celtic when he delivered who he would rather see at Parkhead out of the two.
Grant said [The Go Radio Football Show], “He could play for Celtic, there’s no doubt of that because he’s a goal scorer. And we said that last season that Lawrence Shankland can always score goals.
“So we know he can score goals and he’s proven that here. Yes, he could play for Celtic, but if Celtic had the choice between Adam Idah and Shankland, I would take Idah because of his years at this moment in time.
“I think he will get better as he goes along. I think he will take more of his chances, but I would take Idah because he’s been there before and probably Celtic need that type more than Lawrence at this moment in time.”

I think with all the current speculation surrounding Idan and Celtic it is far more likely to see the Republic of Ireland international at the club than Shankland who has been continually linked with a move to Rangers.
And looking at the chatter online, it seems that Shankland’s addition wouldn’t polarise the support anyway.
The Irishman is tried and tested, Idah wants to join Celtic and hopefully, this is a deal that the club can get done sooner rather than later.
