The positive feel is now starting to come back into Celtic’s play.
Everyone has seen the protests from the Celtic fans, but on the pitch, the overall performances haven’t been great, even though the team have got the job done.
But one man, who is now starting to make a real difference, is the 2025 summer signing Sebastian Tounekti, because he is already performing like he has been at Celtic for years.
Over the weekend, Celtic saw off Partick Thistle to secure their passage into the last four of the League Cup, as Tounekti got a chance to link up with Kelechi Iheanacho.

Sebastian Tounekti on Kelechi Iheanacho getting back up to speed
Celtic signed Iheanacho as a free agent once the summer window closed, as he hasn’t been playing regular football during the past 12 months.

Tounekti told Go Radio that, once Celtic’s versatile forward ‘gets his confidence back’, then he will prove to be a ‘top, top player’ for the club.
Of course, the Nigerian international is already showing signs of that, but there is still a long way to go before he hits full speed.
“We all know what Kelechi can bring,” said Tounekti. “He has played at the top level for many years, and we know when he starts to get his confidence back and everything, he will be a top, top player for Celtic.
“So, I am really looking forward to seeing more and to seeing him grow into the team. I think he will be a good player for Celtic.”
The Tounekti and Iheanacho connection
Celtic eased past Thistle over the weekend, and you could argue that the best moment of the game came when Tounekti and Iheanacho linked up.
Celtic’s third goal of the game, which came straight after the restart, was a thing of beauty and perhaps the best goal the Hoops have scored so far this season.
Instantly, you could tell, with the link-up and lay off between the two players, that there is an automatic connection between them.
Now it’s a case of translating that over the course of the season, especially in the Europa League, which begins on Wednesday night in Belgrade against Red Star.
