Celtic showed Rangers how it should be done over the weekend after the Scottish Cup provided huge drama.
In truth, it has been over a decade since Celtic have shown Rangers how you should be Scotland’s biggest and main club, as they have racked up trophy after trophy and they aren’t stopping with Brendan Rodgers at the helm.
None of them were sweeter than Celtic beating Rangers in the League Cup final at Hampden in December to officially become the most decorated club in Scotland with 119 trophies, and there is more to come!
The Treble is on for Rodgers, he has been here before and there is no reason why it can’t be produced again, especially after the weekend’s results.
On Saturday, the Hoops beat Raith Rovers to progress in the Scottish Cup, whilst Rangers embarrassed themselves against Queen’s Park and watched a Championship side outdo them at Ibrox.
That topic was discussed on talkSPORT, as Simon Jordan sounded as clueless as ever with his disrespect of Celtic.
Show Celtic respect as they dominate Rangers in Scotland
So, Celtic are dominating in Scotland and the first thing Simon Jordan points towards is the finances and how the gap between the two clubs means Rangers ‘aren’t able to compete’.
First of all, there is a reason why the Bhoys are financially more powerful than Rangers, it’s because they win trophies, get into the Champions League and recruit much, much better.
From buying Matt O’Riley for under £2 million from MK Dons in 2022 and then selling him for a record fee of £25 million in the summer.
To selling Kieran Tierney for big bucks in 2019 to Arsenal and now preparing for his return in the summer, at the age of 27, on a free transfer.
And the Jota deal hasn’t even been mentioned!
That genius recruitment has allowed Celtic to flourish, on top of the trophies, but this nonsense that Rangers don’t spend also needs to be put to bed.
Kris Boyd, a man who is more Rangers than the club itself, has publicly stated that it’s a ‘myth’ that Philippe Clement hasn’t spent.
So, the likes of Jordan on talkSPORT need to show more respect towards Celtic and their achievements, they are at the top for a reason, not because Rangers can’t compete from a financial perspective.

The good thing about all of this is that Jordan seemingly wants Clement to remain as Rangers manager, don’t we all?!
So, on that front, he is talking sense because you can’t just rely on the likes of Celtic, Daizen Maeda and Jota to provide the entertainment in Glasgow, you have to give Rangers their chance as well.
“I look at the results and think if you don’t have enough money as Celtic, you aren’t able to compete with them economically, then you have to do something better,” claimed Jordan.
“That means you have to buy better. Have a better management structure. We know, some of the management structure at Rangers has been less than impressive under Philippe Clement.
Jordan responds to being told that second means last in Glasgow: “But post the Celtic result, I know they drew two games after that, but they have gone on and won a few games as well. So, you are judging him by one standard that, ultimately, if you don’t eclipse Celtic, then everything else is irrelevant. Is that it?
“The fact of the matter is, you haven’t got as much money as Celtic, so you can’t go pound-for-pound with them, so you have to do something else, which is probably build. You are going to bring another manager in who is going to have the same challenges as Clement has. He is doing well in Europe. He has beaten Celtic, which people say he couldn’t do. He has had recent results that have been not bad and they got knocked out by one aberration of a performance against Queen’s Park. That’s it. All bets are off for Philippe Clement again?!”
