Celtic have watched Wilfried Nancy’s team score just three goals in four games since the Frenchman’s arrival at the club.
Four defeats on the trot have led to Nancy’s future at Celtic coming under intense speculation after the Bhoys’ latest defeat at Dundee United.
Compare and contrast that to Martin O’Neill’s first game with the same players, Celtic scored four in a comprehensive win over Falkirk at Celtic Park.
But as Nancy comes under pressure due to Celtic’s lack of goals in this winless run, former Hoops striker Adam Idah became a hero for Swansea City in their latest fixture in the English Championship last night.

Former Celtic man Adam Idah scores winner in huge Swansea derby
Idah was a very good striker for Celtic despite what people say about the price tag that the Irishman had no control over.
With 29 goals in 76 appearances, or one goal every 117 minutes, that is not a bad return considering most of Idah’s appearances (41) came from the Celtic bench.
Important goals in the Scottish Cup and the league in his loan spell won Celtic a double and access to the Champions League.
And as Nancy’s side struggle for goals, Idah was the hero in Swansea with this 90th-minute winner in the local derby against Wrexham.
Should Celtic have held on to Adam Idah? Let us know in the comments.
Should Celtic have held onto Idah at least until the summer? Would he have helped halt this horrific goalscoring record Nancy has right now? Unfortunately, Hoops fans will never know now.
Adam Idah’s post-Celtic scoring record at Swansea City
While Idah has a relatively good goalscoring record at Celtic, the big Irishman is struggling at his new club this season.
Last night’s goal was Idah’s first since the beginning of November as the former Celtic striker struggles to break into the Welsh side’s starting XI.
Here are Idah’s stats since he left Celtic for Swansea:
- Appearances: 20
- Minutes on the park: 751
- Goals: 3
- Goals per minute: 1 every 250
- Starting XI: 7
It’s clear that Idah is enjoying a fruitful time since his Celtic exit so let’s hope that his winning goal in the derby will be a boost and kickstart his Swansea career.
