Celtic have a romantic history of signing relatively unknown players and turning them into a success.
For fans of my vintage, Henrik Larsson and Lubomir Moravcik are two names that will immediately jump out at the Celtic supporters.
More recently, Moussa Dembele and Matt O’Riley’s success at Celtic will resonate with more of our younger readers.
However, there is a player who is returning to Celtic this summer that has blown away BBC pundit Pat Bonner and he believes he could become a first-team regular under Brendan Rodgers.

Ross Doohan’s Celtic return has left Pat Bonner feeling misty-eyed
Bonner has been delighted with Celtic’s capture of Kieran Tierney, but it’s the return of Ross Doohan that has the Hoops legend over the moon.
Bonner told The Celtic Way [7m 29], “What a story, Ross! There is a young man, couldn’t get in, leaves, develops and now has an opportunity to come back.
“And who knows, in a year’s time he could be second choice, he could be first choice. Brilliant for him. Absolutely brilliant.
“But that tells me something about goalkeeping. You mature later now in life. In my day, and I look at the top goalkeepers, Donnaruma, Courtois, you know those guys who made, what, 200, maybe 300 appearances when they were 23 years old.
“That’s kind of the ones that you just see at the very top end but what about all these other guys that don’t get game time and don’t play.
“They have to go somewhere to get game time so that to me has been a great journey for Ross.
“He’s maturing as a young man and he’s maturing a little bit later now. He’s come back to be number two, number three, maybe number one and it’s all there in front of him.”
Celtic’s potential summer transfers
Celtic are said to be in for a number of players this summer. Benjamin Nygren is said to be of interest to the Hoops and 67 Hail Hail spoke to a Danish football expert about the Celtic target.
Celtic are also eyeing Michel-Ange Balikwisha as the rumours surrounding the Belgian winger continue.
And, of course, Hayato Inamura’s Celtic interest took a sharp turn as Sky Sports reported that talks to sign the Japanese left-back by the Parkhead club are going well.
It’s going to be a busy summer for the Celtic fans.
