It has been some return to Celtic colours for Jota.
When the 26-year-old was sitting on the bench at Rennes before the turn of the year, he probably never thought that, months later, he would be celebrating Celtic’s title win.
In an ironic turn of events, Kyogo Furuhashi is now doing that, although the Hoops legend is struggling to make the French club’s matchday squad, as his call to leave the champions goes from bad to worse.
But from the first day Jota stepped foot into Celtic to the present, nothing has changed, and it has been pure dominance, once again, from Scotland’s most successful club.
Jota returned to Celtic’s XI at Tannadice after being left out for the previous two matches, including the Scottish Cup semi-final win over St Johnstone.
But he was on the floor in agony in the first half, and was then replaced by Adam Idah, who helped himself to two goals.

Jota celebrates with Celtic teammates on the Tannadice pitch as another title is secured
As the Celtic players celebrated the title on the Tannadice pitch, Brendan Rodgers was spotted urging Jota, who was on crutches and walking pretty slowly, to join his teammates.
To the delight of the Celtic Park faithful, he did join in, including lifting his crutches in the air and cheering towards the away following.
But, of course, the downside to all of this is that he is on crutches, and the fact that his right knee is so heavily strapped doesn’t look good, so hopefully, the fans’ worry will be eased pretty soon.
‘Jota was out celebrating with his team-mates, but the winger could be seen in crutches and a knee brace’, wrote BBC Sport.
‘Didn’t look great, but could just be precautionary. The only negative in another great day for Celtic.’
What Brendan Rodgers said about Jota’s injury
It seems as though the Celtic fans will be finding out pretty soon the extent of Jota’s injury, with the issue seemingly being his knee and meniscus, according to his manager.
‘He felt his knee with the medical guys,’ stated Rodgers, as posted by PLZ Soccer. ‘We are looking at whether his meniscus is a bit sore. We will have to assess that.
“They put it in a brace to protect it, but we will see in the next couple of days’.
Celtic’s next game is a trip to Ibrox, the final Glasgow derby of the season, and a chance to celebrate the title in real style by securing all three points.
But, of course, that’s not the only big fixture Jota could miss, because there is the small matter of the Scottish Cup final on May 24 against Aberdeen.
