Greg Taylor had two reasons to remember Celtic’s win over Kilmarnock yesterday.
Firstly, the Hoops defender got the nod ahead of Jeffrey Schlupp and was in sparkling form as he helped Celtic dismantle Kilmarnock in the 5-1 win at Parkhead.
Taylor was superb in the win and was Celtic’s man of the match but was, strangely, ‘unavailable’ to receive his post-match award.
However, for the Celtic defender, that wasn’t the most important moment of the game after Taylor presented his newborn baby daughter to the Parkhead support in a moment he found hard to ‘put into words’.

Why Greg Taylor was emotional for Celtic start vs Kilmarnock
Taylor has spent most of his time on the bench since the arrival of Schlupp, but after Rodgers named the Scotland defender in his Celtic starting XI against Kilmarnock, there was another huge reason the fullback found the day emotional.
Taking to Instagram, Taylor posted pictures of his newborn baby daughter Ruvie, as he presented her decked in the green and white Hoops to a packed Celtic Park.
Taylor said of the moment, “Hard to put today into words. Ruvie Taylor I love you so much”.
The Hoops defender is still to put pen to paper to a contract that is expiring at the end of the season but it seems, so far, that Taylor could leave Celtic at the end of the season.
Jeffrey Schlupp, Joe Hart & other Celtic stars send Greg Taylor a message
Reacting to the post on Instagram, various Celtic stars left a message for Taylor as he proudly introduced his daughter to the Celtic family.
Joe Hart said, “Magical” with a green heart emoji. Schlupp simply replied with two emojis, one of a smiling face with hearts and raised hands.
Adam Idah said, “Love it you.” and even Luis Palma dropped in with “Top man”.
Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and others all left Taylor various emojis and likes as the Celtic defender feels the love from his teammates.
