Jeffrey Schlupp has the taste for what it’s like to play for Celtic.

The 32-year-old joined Celtic from Crystal Palace during the January transfer window on a six-month loan deal, and he knew straight away that he was guaranteed trophies.

Celtic had just won the League Cup, they were well clear in the Premiership table, and clear favourites to win the Scottish FA Cup.

In the end, Brendan Rodgers’ side won the double, Schlupp managed to get his Scottish Premiership title-winning medal, but he was unfortunate that Aberdeen stood in Celtic’s way of the clean sweep.

As Schlupp was enjoying himself in Glasgow, back in London, Crystal Palace were shocking the world and lifting the FA Cup – and a major trophy – for the first time in their history.

Why Jeffrey Schlupp will get another winner’s medal after success at Celtic

Before Schlupp joined Celtic, he played 13 minutes for Palace during their 1-0 FA Cup Third Round win over Stockport County.

Sometimes, the rules can be a little iffy on who does or doesn’t get a medal because you need to have made a certain number of appearances.

But, according to the player himself, Schlupp has another winner’s medal for the season after Palace’s FA Cup success, and he is delighted about it, as he told Sky Sports News (27/05/25).

“I got my medal in the end, so I was buzzing,” said Schlupp about Palace winning the FA Cup. “I was buzzing for the boys. We played on the same day, so I couldn’t make it down there.

“But what an achievement for the boys, and the club. Super happy for Steve (Parish), of course. It’s fully deserved. Glasner has come in there and said he wanted to win trophies. Took the cups seriously.”

How many trophies has Schlupp won in his career?

Schlupp was part of that famous Leicester City side in 2016 that won the Premier League title under the stewardship of Claudio Ranieri.

If the versatile defender wants to add more trophies to his name, then Celtic is the place to be because he is now set to leave Palace ahead of his contract expiring at the end of June.

Celtic have won 14 out of the last 15 titles, including back-to-back doubles, as well as more Trebles than Rangers have trophy wins in recent times.
