The Celtic striker is expected to sign for Rennes in the coming days.
Speculation over Kyogo’s Celtic future has been front and centre of the transfer news for fans over the last few weeks after a bizarre story broke when the MLS wrongfully claimed the Hoops icon had signed for Atlanta United.
Since then, however, the Celtic striker seems to have played his last game for the club after agreeing to leave Parkhead for Rennes in a move worth around £10m.
Celtic hero Chris Sutton has since aired his unhappiness about what he’s heard about Kyogo’s Celtic exit and has told Robbie Savage that he believes the club are making a mistake by allowing him to leave.

Speaking about the potential sale, Savage asked whether or not Celtic are showing a lack of ambition by selling their star striker when Sutton agreed that this particular piece of business is ‘strange’.
Sutton told BBC 606 [5m 45s], “And finally, Rob, I spoke to you about half an hour ago about this. Celtic selling Kyogo.
Savage: “Wow!”
Sutton: “They just got through in the Champions League to the playoffs. Looks like he’s going to Rennes, yeah.
“It’s a strange one, isn’t it?”
Savage: “Is it a lack of ambition from Celtic, Chris?
Sutton: “Well, I don’t know whether you read my column this morning, but it’s a strange one, isn’t it? So I want to hear from Celtic fans.”

Carrying on the conversation, Savage probed Sutton further when he asked if thought Celtic selling Kyogo was a mistake.
Sutton replied without hesitation and offered his thoughts on how the fans feel about the potential Kyogo Celtic exit.
Savage: “So do you think it’s a mistake?”
Sutton: “Yes, I do.”
Savage: “Do you think Brendan’s got it wrong?”
Sutton: “It’s the club, Rob. It’s a collective. You should know that better than anyone. But let’s hear from Celtic fans. I think they’re split on this.”
Only time will tell whether selling Kyogo will be a mistake by Celtic but if Jota returns as a result of the move then it will lessen the sting amongst many of the fans.
With Brendan Rodgers having Adam Idah, Johnny Kenny and possibly Daizen Maeda as another option up front, the Celtic manager will still be expected to replace the Japanese striker with another quality addition before the transfer window closes on the 3rd of February.
