Celtic predicted XI vs Motherwell as Jota start up in the air while two stars return

Celtic are back in Scottish Premiership action after a week off last weekend.

The Hoops last faced Aston Villa in the Champions League but were scheduled to take on Dundee before Storm Eowyn caused chaos and forced the match to be postponed.

That means, before the Villa clash, Celtic‘s most recent outing was also in Europe against Young Boys.

Some big changes have been made since their most recent domestic fixture vs Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup with some incomings and outgoings shaping Brendan Rodgers‘ squad.

Jota or Daizen Maeda for Celtic away at Motherwell

Jota arrived from Rennes after a long chat with the manager while Kyogo departed the other way with his £10million switch to Ligue 1.

Adam Idah has hit the goals trail again and injured stars will be available for the Motherwell game this weekend with just James Forrest still ruled out of action by his boss.

There remains a whopping 10 point gap between Celts and rivals Rangers with the leaders boasting a game in hand against Dundee this coming midweek.

But it’s managerless ‘Well at Fir Park before then.

67 Hail Hail attempts to predict Rodgers’ XI for that one.

Celtic predicted XI vs Motherwell

Kasper Schmeichel missed training yesterday morning but has been labelled available so he’ll likely start. Sorry Viljami Sinisalo, it’s not your time yet.

Alistair Johnston looked tired vs Villa so Anthony Ralston could be pitched in.

Cameron Carter-Vickers could return from injury alongside Auston Trusty and Greg Taylor is the man at left-back.

Callum McGregor will play his 500th club game for Celtic and he’ll probably be alongside Arne Engels and Paulo Bernardo with Reo Hatate given the week off from starting, at least.

Then comes the awkward decision.

Daizen Maeda has been sensational this season and is not suspended as he was vs Villa.

We reckon the Japanese will start ahead of Jota who might come off the bench in the second-half. Rodgers is not convinced he is match fit quite yet.

Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah will make up the rest of the XI.
